We are a friendly men's section, and welcome new members of all ages and abilities, from complete beginners to budding Rory McIlroys! To join, call Patrick - 01614459544.

Club competitions: We have weekly club competitions on Saturdays, and monthly midweek competitions on Tuesdays (with tee times up to 4.30pm) and Wednesdays throughout the year. Members can also compete in club knockouts (singles and four-ball better ball). We hold prize presentations throughout the season, and a Major prize presentation evening in October. 

Regional and local competitions: The club enters many of the Cheshire and Manchester-wide competitions, including the Mersey League, Dunham Forest Trophy, City Glass Foursomes, Seniors Matchplay and Archie Preston Mixed Foursomes. 

Social golf: We have roll-ups every Wednesday and Friday at 9.15am - we play in 3’s or 4’s depending on numbers and end the game in bar! 

Seniors: For the over 55s, we have a very friendly and active Seniors section, with roll-ups every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9.40am, team matches against other clubs, and an annual trip away. 

Mixed golf: We organise “Friday Evening Frolics” once a month over the Summer, and play mixed competitions on Bank Holiday Mondays. We also have mixed exchanges with other local clubs. 

Social: It’s not just about the golf, and we also organise other social events - see all our social events.

In recognition of the ground work scheduled for the weekend 24/10/2020 – 25/10/2020 The 16th fairway is temporarily declared Ground Under Repair and any ball landing anywhere on the 16th fairway is to be dropped free of penalty. (Rule 25.1 applies a player must take relief). Lift, Clean and Place on mown areas is permitted. A ball may be played as it lies with the following exceptions: 1. if the ball lies within areas that have been marked with GUR white lines 2. if the ball is within a reseeded area of fairway on the 13th, 17th or 18th hole and lying on a clearly damaged spot, with playing partner consent it may be lifted, cleaned and placed within 6 inches, no nearer the hole
